Partner Michael Sayre Secures Preliminary Injunction for Client in Defamation Case
Michael Sayre, a partner in Armstrong Teasdale’s Litigation practice group, secured a preliminary injunction for client Oleg Firer in Miami-Dade County Circuit Court prohibiting defendants Everett Stern and his company, Tactical Rabbit, from making defamatory statements about Firer.
The defendants had made statements about the client, a dual national and ambassador, alleging the client was a Russian spy. These defamatory statements were causing severe disruptions in the client’s personal and professional life. The client filed suit for defamation and tortious interference with business relationships and sought a preliminary injunction against the defendants. The court found in the client’s favor and granted the injunction requiring them to make no further such statements and to remove the existing defamatory posts and tweets about the client.
Sayre represents parties before both state and federal courts, regulatory agencies and arbitration panels in the litigation and resolution of business and commercial disputes.
