Biography
Saki Tohyama has over 15 years of experience as a patent agent helping clients safeguard their inventions. She is skilled at drafting and reviewing patent applications, preparing replies to U.S. and foreign office actions; and assisting attorneys with prosecution, identifying alternative prosecution scenarios and claim strategies to develop patent portfolios.
Saki regularly performs patent searches and investigates inventorship issues; reviews disclosures for patentability, novelty and nonobviousness; and conducts interviews with USPTO examiners and prepares appeals to the Patent Trial and Appeal Board and clearance analyses. In addition, she has experience with the Japanese Patent Office and consulting with clients pursuing patents in Japan and the U.S. regarding inventions in the fields of biology, chemistry and pharmacology.
