Biography
William Valet has a decade of practical engineering experience which he leverages to guide clients in safeguarding their ideas and inventions.
Bill provides tailored, individualized advice based on clients’ technology, needs, goals and budget. He has experience drafting and prosecuting utility and design patent applications and trademark applications, both domestically and internationally, in myriad technological areas, including medical devices (robotic surgical systems, intra-operative navigation systems, catheters and ablation devices), solar trackers (mechanical, electrical and software-related aspects of articulating solar tracker arrays), and mechanical energy storage systems, among others.
He also performs clearance searches, validity studies and patentability studies in addition to counseling clients on patentability and freedom-to-operate issues.

Background
Prior to joining Armstrong Teasdale, Bill was a senior associate at a boutique intellectual property law firm in New York. A former mechanical engineer, he has experience designing automation equipment, evaluating and testing consumer products for a global independent safety science company, and helping develop the superconducting radio frequency cavities and liquid helium cryogenic plant for the NSLS-II project at Brookhaven National Laboratory.
