In addition, members of the team have extensive experience in obtaining U.S. permanent residence status for corporate clients on behalf of their employees by obtaining labor certification or petitioning the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS, formerly the Immigration and Naturalization Service) to classify individuals as either outstanding researchers, individuals with extraordinary ability, or as multinational executives or managers.

We also represent corporate clients on workplace compliance issues, including I-9 issues as well as audits conducted by the Department of Labor or the USCIS. The Immigration practice area also assists corporate clients involved in mergers and acquisitions to ensure that the foreign employees involved in a corporate reorganization maintain their immigration status.

Through Armstrong Teasdale’s membership in Lex Mundi, our team also is able to assist corporate clients on a variety of outbound immigration matters. Lex Mundi is an organization of independent law firms providing for the exchange of professional information about the local and global practice and development of law. We work with local counsel to help corporate clients seeking to transfer abroad employees who are either U.S. citizens or citizens of other countries residing in the United States by securing appropriate work and travel documents.

In addition, our immigration lawyers provide services to individuals on a variety of issues pertaining to permanent residence status through marriage to a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident. We also assist individuals in obtaining fiancé visas, travel documents, work authorization documents, and naturalization and citizenship processing.
