Litigation Housing and Urban Development Secretary Alphonso Jackson, an Armstrong Teasdale client, had been living under a dark cloud for several years while the Department of Justice investigated allegations of favoritism. The probe was a result of unsubstantiated complaints by critics who disagreed with the sweeping changes that Jackson instituted as HUD secretary during the Bush administration.

The nightmare lifted in May 2010 when the Justice Department ended its investigation without bringing charges.

“I want to thank my attorneys who have been with me throughout and assisted me greatly,” Jackson said when he heard the news. “They are great lawyers and wonderful friends.”

Our litigators are definitely the friends you want on your side. We have professionals with specific backgrounds in every major practice area including such diverse fields as intellectual property, products liability, construction, health care and white collar criminal defense. Their experience includes state, federal and administrative trial work, appellate practice and mediation and arbitration.

In conjunction with our International practice group, we represent clients in commercial disputes involving international legal issues in various federal courts. We are also well-versed in alternative dispute resolution procedures, including those of the American Arbitration Association (AAA) and the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC). In addition, our international attorneys know how to obtain and take discovery abroad.

Equally important, you can count on us to be with you every step of the way from preparation to resolution. We’re all on one team and your input is an integral part of the strategy.

The Litigation practice group is the firm’s largest, with more than 100 members. Six of our partners are Fellows in the American College of Trial Lawyers. Four of our trial lawyers are Fellows of the Litigation Counsel of America. Thirty of our litigation partners were selected to the most recent edition of The Best Lawyers in America. Chambers USA awarded national honors to seven trial lawyers in its most recent edition.
