Biography
Alexandra Martinez is a partner in the firm’s Intellectual Property practice group. She handles patent preparation and prosecution of computer-based inventions mostly in the medical, insurance and financial fields. She is experienced in patents related to medical devices, including implantable and non-implantable devices and MRI machines, computer network architecture, payment networks, autonomous and semi-autonomous vehicles, drones and sensors. In addition, she has prepared freedom-to-operate opinions, patent strategies, and landscapes for mechanical and computer-based inventions, particularly in the medical field.
Working through all stages of patent prosecution, Alexandra helps in-house counsel, sole inventors, startups and patent examiners with everything from patentability searches to writing patent applications.

Alexandra has held a variety of Intellectual Property internships and clerkships at both technology companies and law firms. Prior to attending law school, she held engineering and managerial roles at a medical device supply company.
