Women's Inclusion Network

The mission of Armstrong Teasdale’s Women's Inclusion Network (WIN) is to create a positive and supportive environment for women attorneys and staff through mentoring, networking and educational opportunities. It also aims to strengthen existing relationships with clients and prospects as well as forge new relationships between professional and executive women in the community. As a result, our women are leading the firm in key management positions, generating significant business, assuming key roles as large client relationship partners and serving as first-chair in trials and major transactions.

At a time when few firms focused resources on helping women succeed, Partner Tessa Trelz founded WIN, formerly known as the Professional Advancement of Women program. Since 1998, WIN has served as a model for programs at other firms.

Presently, women hold leadership roles at the firm, including general counsel, positions on the firm’s management and compensation committees, and an office managing attorney. In addition, women partners hold leadership roles in practice areas such as international, immigration, OSHA, trust and estates, agribusiness and food and more.

The program, now led by Partner Hillary Bean, includes a number of efforts to better attract, retain and promote female lawyers and professional staff. Examples of program-sponsored opportunities to build professional strengths include seminars and one-on-one coaching opportunities on the topics of business development, mentorship and sponsorship, and overcoming professional challenges among others. The firm’s WIN events also extend to the broader community, often including clients, professional contacts and other women’s organizations in order to build and maintain a critical bridge between professional women of all industries.
