Armstrong Teasdale Represents Purchaser of AT&T Office Tower in St. Louis

John R. Moore and Patricia B. Beckerle, partners in Armstrong Teasdale’s Financial and Real Estate Services practice group, represented Boston-based Goldman Group in its acquisition of the AT&T Office Tower in downtown St. Louis, Missouri, for approximately $3.6 million. Located at 909 Chestnut Street, at 44 stories and approximately 1.46 million square feet, the building is the largest office building in the state of Missouri.

In 2022, the building was placed on the National Register of Historic Places by the prior owner, New York-based SomeraRoad. The office tower has been vacant since 2017 when AT&T consolidated its local employees into a different building in downtown St. Louis. Goldman Group, a real estate investment, development, and management company, has redeveloped numerous properties, primarily in the Northeastern United States.

Moore primarily focuses his practice on mergers and acquisitions and real estate transactions. He regularly assists clients of all sizes with commercial, finance and real estate transactions, mergers, acquisitions and restructurings, and general corporate governance and compliance. His background in economics and tax lends well to the complex business transactions he supports today. Moore counsels clients through all stages of mergers and acquisitions as well as real estate transactions, and often serves as the lead counsel for companies acquiring other businesses.

Beckerle represents developers, investors, financial institutions, utilities, governmental bodies and other public and private entities in all aspects of real estate transactions, including the acquisition, sale, leasing, financing, development and construction of real property. She represents local, regional and national property management companies, property owners, manufacturers and other private entities with respect to office, industrial and retail commercial real estate, including the drafting and negotiation of commercial leases, sale agreements, sale-leaseback transactions and easement agreements.
