Armstrong Teasdale Attorneys Earn Recognition for Leadership, Mentorship
Armstrong Teasdale, a law firm with offices across the United States, proudly announces that Partners Bill Corrigan and James Heinen Jr. have been recognized by Missouri Lawyers Media with a Mentor Award and Up & Coming Award respectively.
A former president of The Missouri Bar, Corrigan’s litigation skills and legal acumen have gained him national recognition. In addition to his experience as a successful business litigator, Corrigan’s distinguished career includes serving as outside general counsel to many privately held businesses headquartered in St. Louis.
This role speaks to his work as a mentor, not only guiding his clients through legal challenges, but also counseling associates and other partners at the firm. A consummate collaborator, he works with attorneys across the firm to help them hone their strengths and stand out among the crowd, and provides them with actionable takeaways to help them develop professionally.
Active in the community and in the political arena, Bill also participates on a number of charitable and civic boards, such as SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children's Foundation and the Today & Tomorrow Educational Foundation, and served as the Republican candidate for the 2010 election for St. Louis County Executive.
Heinen serves as co-leader of the firm’s Higher Education industry team and leads the Patent Agent/Engineer subgroup. Registered before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, Heinen focuses on the preparation and prosecution of U.S. and foreign patent applications for those in the chemical and biochemical industries. He also has extensive experience with opinion work (validity, freedom-to-operate, etc.) and manages post-grant proceedings, including inter partes reviews for a number of high-profile clients.
As leader of the Patent Agent/Engineer subgroup from the program’s inception, Heinen oversees the hiring, training and development of patent agents and patent engineers/scientists. He is also instrumental in the training and growth of Armstrong Teasdale associates.
Heinen is active in both professional and charitable organizations, including state bar associations, the American Intellectual Property Law Association (serving as a mentor from 2012-2014), the Miami University (Ohio) Alumni organization (St. Louis Chapter President, 2009-2014) and the St. Louis Sports Commission.
Both Corrigan and Heinen will be recognized at an awards luncheon on Friday, Oct. 12, at the Missouri Athletic Club in St. Louis.
