Biography
Karl Riehl has over two decades of legal, recruitment, professional development and practice management experience. As chief legal talent officer, he is responsible for executing the firm’s growth strategy, identifying practice needs and reviewing attorney performance.
Karl’s experience includes overseeing attorney and law student recruitment, including partner-level recruitment and geographical expansions; negotiating compensation packages as well as designing compensation and performance management processes to align with strategic goals; directing and managing practice management and providing support to firm leadership on operations and best practices.
With a commitment to improving the administration of the law, advancing the careers of law students and attorneys, and fostering diversity, equity and inclusion, Karl is a frequent speaker on various topics within professional development and recruiting in the legal industry as well as diversity, equity and inclusion, specifically addressing issues affecting the LGBTQ+ community.
Background
Prior to joining Armstrong Teasdale, Karl was Director of Practice Management at a New York law firm.
