Margaret A. Mudd and Ida S. Shafaie Join Armstrong Teasdale’s St. Louis Office

Armstrong Teasdale proudly announces the addition of Corporate Services associate Margaret A. Mudd and Litigation associate Ida S. Shafaie.

Margaret A. Mudd

As a member of the Corporate Services practice group, Mudd primarily focuses on mergers and acquisitions. She represents sellers and buyers in connection with acquisitions and divestitures, from participation in sales processes through completion of post-closing items. She also assists clients with drafting and negotiating confidentiality agreements and performs due diligence to identify potential issues on behalf of her clients.

In addition, Mudd advises clients on corporate governance and other general corporate law matters, including assisting clients with entity formation, capital calls, equity issuances, restructurings and other corporate matters.

Prior to joining Armstrong Teasdale, Mudd was an associate at a law firm in Houston, Texas. She earned her J.D., magna cum laude, from Washington University School of Law and B.S., summa cum laude, in mathematics from Truman State University. Mudd is admitted to practice law in Texas.

Ida S. Shafaie

A trial attorney and member of the Employment and Labor practice area, Shafaie counsels clients regarding complex civil rights claims and related state and local antidiscrimination laws. She has defended employers in matters involving both Title VII and the Missouri Human Rights Act. In addition, Shafaie has experience handling civil rights matters arising under Section 1983, including claims of excessive force and municipal pattern and practice claims. She also has experience handling general municipal defense matters and wrongful death claims.

Prior to joining the firm, Shafaie was an associate at another St. Louis area law firm. She also has extensive experience in criminal law as a former assistant prosecuting attorney for the Greene County Prosecutor’s Office in Springfield, Missouri, where she managed over 400 criminal cases.

She earned her J.D. from the University of Missouri School of Law and B.A., magna cum laude, in philosophy and classical humanities from the University of Missouri. Shafaie is admitted to practice law in Missouri and before the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri.

Mudd and Shafaie are based in the firm’s St. Louis office.
