Four Lawyers Named to 2023 Lawdragon 500 Bankruptcy and Restructuring List
Wendi Alper-Pressman, David Going, Eric Sutty and Jeff Wurst, partners in Armstrong Teasdale’s Restructuring, Insolvency and Bankruptcy practice, have been named to the 2023 Lawdragon 500 Leading Bankruptcy and Restructuring Lawyers list. Alper-Pressman, a lawyer in the firm’s St. Louis office, has worked with a wide range of clients, including developers, business owners, finance companies and banks of all sizes, on issues such as loan workouts and restructurings, forbearance agreements, foreclosures, bankruptcy proceedings, enforcement actions, lender liability and other litigation. She is also experienced in bankruptcy filings on behalf of unsecured creditors, as well as the development and implementation of sophisticated strategies on behalf of secured creditors, equipment lessors, landlords and official unsecured creditors’ committees, including retiree committees.
Going is a member of the St. Louis office and a respected bankruptcy practitioner and commercial litigator guiding distressed businesses, lenders and creditors in complex insolvency proceedings. He provides targeted, strategic advice in the handling of business reorganizations, bankruptcy litigation and creditor’s rights issues. As a bankruptcy litigator, he has both defended and prosecuted fraudulent conveyance actions arising from alleged Ponzi schemes, leveraged buyouts and insider transactions. As a fellow in the American College of Bankruptcy, Going is a recognized authority on bankruptcy-related issues.
Sutty is a skilled business lawyer with experience representing companies from formation through dissolution and every step in between. A member of the firm’s Wilmington office, he regularly represents committees, debtors, debtors-in-possession, secured lenders, unsecured creditors, and trustees in Chapter 11 proceedings. He also represents trustees in Chapter 7 proceedings and post-confirmation estates. Sutty is also an experienced commercial litigator at the state and federal levels in both trial and appellate courts.
Wurst, a member of the firm’s New York office, has more than 30 years of experience and is well recognized for handling significant commercial finance and bankruptcy matters. A Fellow of the American College of Commercial Finance Lawyers, he advises lenders and borrowers when commercial borrowers seek protection, whether in or out of bankruptcy, often under Chapter 11 and state court insolvency proceedings. He is also well versed in representing clients who are acquiring the assets or stock of companies in bankruptcy, and regularly represents the interests of commercial landlords in bankruptcy matters.
