Complete Defense Victory for Business Founder in Eight-Figure Jury Trial
Successfully defended the co-founder of a company created to operate and manage Padel clubs in a protracted dispute with a business partner who sought more than $12.6 million in damages. The plaintiff’s claims included fraudulent misrepresentation, negligent misrepresentation, fraud in the inducement, breach of fiduciary duty, aiding and abetting breach of fiduciary duty, fraudulent concealment, and conspiracy to commit fraud. The defense team successfully moved to strike the plaintiff’s purported expert under Daubert, leaving him without a testifying damages expert at trial. Following a 10-day trial, the jury deliberated for less than five hours before rejecting all of the plaintiff’s claims.
