Armstrong Teasdale Adds Three Attorneys in St. Louis, Philadelphia
Armstrong Teasdale proudly announces the addition of three attorneys – Partner Matthew S. Shorey and Associates Gregory D. Deschler and Dr. Hui-Shan Sandra King – to various practice groups nationwide.
Shorey joins the firm’s Litigation practice in St. Louis. A skilled trial lawyer, Shorey has argued and won jury and bench trials in jurisdictions throughout Missouri. With a multifaceted practice spanning a wide range of litigation subsets, he primarily focuses on the defense of medical malpractice, insurance, product liability, tort, utility, municipal, construction, and commercial actions. Shorey also has extensive health law experience, including advising and lecturing to physicians and health care administrators. Before joining Armstrong Teasdale, Shorey served as Senior Associate General Counsel for the medical campus of a major metropolitan university. Prior to that, he spent nearly 17 years in private practice. Shorey’s experience as in-house counsel lends to his deep understanding of client needs and ability to address concerns before they arise.
Deschler joins the firm’s Financial and Real Estate Services practice group in St. Louis. Deschler has extensive experience representing public finance issuers on a variety of publicly offered and privately placed tax-exempt financings, guiding clients through the deal from start to close. He also counsels underwriters on health care and long-term care debt financings and assists underwriters with SEC-required due diligence. Deschler’s practice also extends to advising clients on various securities laws and disclosure issues related to public finance. His experience includes preparing public offering documents for distribution to the capital markets, drafting forms related to continuing disclosure, pension disclosure and risk factors, and helping implement changes in response to regulatory amendments from the SEC. Before joining Armstrong Teasdale, Deschler was an associate at a Kansas City, Missouri, law firm.
King joins the firm’s Intellectual Property practice group in Philadelphia. A licensed pharmacist, King applies her deep scientific and medical knowledge in counseling clients at the intersection of health care technology and law. King focuses her practice on patent preparation and prosecution in the health care and life sciences. She has extensive experience advising clients on global patent portfolios involving chemical compositions, pharmaceutical formulations and dosage forms, transdermal drug delivery systems, manufacturing processes, synthetic processes, therapeutic methods, drug packaging, medical devices and vaccines. Prior to joining Armstrong Teasdale, King spent more than 10 years as a patent attorney focusing on pharmaceutical, medical device and life science patents at a law firm in Alexandria, Virginia.
