Armstrong Teasdale Lawyers Named Among 2023 U.S. IP Stars
Armstrong Teasdale proudly announces that Partners Erin Florek, Christopher Goff, Patrick Rasche and Donna Schmitt have been recognized among Managing IP’s 2023 IP Stars, a leading resource for companies or individuals looking for experienced legal practitioners for contentious and non-contentious IP advice.
Managing IP conducts rigorous research each year and ranks both firms and practitioners across six IP practice areas and more than 70 jurisdictions. Florek, Goff and Rasche were recognized as Patent Stars both nationally and in Missouri, and Schmitt was recognized as a Trademark Star at the national level. In addition, Armstrong Teasdale was recognized as “Highly Recommended” for Intellectual Property in Missouri.
Florek has an emphasis in medical device and chemical-related technologies, and regularly counsels clients on freedom-to-operate, patent infringement, patentability and due diligence issues. She also prepares noninfringement and invalidity opinions, and assists in litigation analysis and inter partes review proceedings.
Goff has an emphasis in medical device, chemical and biochemical patent preparation and prosecution. He counsels clients on freedom-to-operate issues, patent infringement issues, patentability and other due diligence issues. He also prepares noninfringement and invalidity opinions, and is actively involved in post grant review matters, including reexamination and inter partes review.
Rasche, who also serves as Armstrong Teasdale’s Managing Partner, provides strategic and up-to-date counsel on patent procurement and enforcement, licensing, infringement issues, product clearance, freedom-to-operate, validity, inter partes review proceedings, due diligence and general business matters. An experienced IP practitioner and former patent examiner, his knowledge base includes homeland protection, medical imaging, motors, alternative energy, engines, advanced manufacturing and other technologies. He previously served as leader of the firm’s Intellectual Property practice group.
Schmitt leads the firm’s Trademark Services practice and strategically manages global trademark portfolios and advises clients on copyright, trade dress and trade secret matters. She handles domestic and foreign trademark prosecution and provides guidance on trademark selection, use, registration, policing, protection, infringement and enforcement.
