Four Armstrong Teasdale Attorneys Recognized by Legal 500 US Elite for IP in Missouri
Armstrong Teasdale Partners Patrick Coyle, Derick Allen, Cristopher Goff, and Donna Frazier Schmitt have been recognized among the Legal 500’s US Elite rankings for Intellectual Property in Missouri.
Legal 500’s US Elite emphasizes lawyers who are handling work at the top of the legal market in their respective cities. Lawyers are selected based on interviews with top practitioners, referee and peer feedback, and evidence of key matters worked on by the ranked attorneys during the past year.
Coyle is a patent attorney registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. He focuses on preparing and prosecuting U.S. and foreign patent applications in the mechanical, electromechanical, and materials science disciplines. He has experience in a wide range of technologies, including semiconductor and solar material manufacturing and processing, precision agricultural equipment, HVAC systems, automotive technology, emergency vehicle equipment, and medical devices.
Allen is a registered patent attorney and assists both emerging and Fortune 500 pharmaceutical, chemical, and life science-based companies with the development and application of their technologies. He has experience in advising such companies in the strategic development and management of their global patent portfolio, including the preparation and prosecution of both U.S. and foreign patent applications.
Goff, with an emphasis in medical device, chemical, and biochemical patent preparation and prosecution, counsels clients on freedom-to-operate issues, patent infringement issues, patentability, and other due diligence issues. His experience involves a variety of subject matters, such as small molecule design and development, pharmaceuticals, electrochemical cell chemistries and design, medical devices, herbicides, antibodies, vaccines, pediatric and adult nutritionals, and gene sequencing.
Schmitt is leader of the firm’s Trademark practice and handles domestic and foreign trademark prosecution, guiding clients on trademark selection, use, registration, policing, protection, infringement, and enforcement. She also advises on commercialization of intellectual property through licensing. As part of her practice, Schmitt identifies trends and new tools to enforce intellectual property rights, including efforts to curb the sale and distribution of counterfeit and knockoff products from electronics to personal care items.
