Sherry Doctorian offers individuals, companies and trade associations effective and reputable lobbying on matters pending before the state legislature and a wide variety of Missouri administrative agencies. Those agencies include The Missouri Department of Insurance, Financial Institutions and Professional Registration; Department of Revenue and Department of Economic Development.
By advocating for or against pending legislation, she helps clients achieve their objectives. Recognizing that administrative and regulatory laws, legislation and policy decisions can impact an individual and an organization’s vitality, Sherry proactively combines her legal knowledge with government policy goals. She understands the processes and players in state and local government and focuses on leveraging her extensive network of contacts to allow for successful representation of clients.
Sherry assists life, health, property and casualty insurance companies with issues involving The Missouri Department of Insurance, Financial Institutions and Professional Registration. Regularly, she handles Form A hearings, agency and agent licensure matters and market conduct examination disputes. Sherry has assisted several clients with the formation of captive insurance companies. She currently represents the Missouri Captive Insurance Association as their lobbyist at the statehouse. She also represents professional licensees before the professional licensing boards and the Administrative Hearing Commission.
When business entities have income, sales and use tax disputes with the Department of Revenue, they look to Sherry for assistance. She also represents clients before the Public Service Commission.
Once an application for tax credits has been filed, Sherry acts as a liaison between the Department of Economic Development and an individual, group or organization. She helps to sheppard the application through the process.
Sherry’s experience extends to general civil litigation for small- to large-sized business clients.
