Armstrong Teasdale Announces New Government Relations Subsidiary
Armstrong Teasdale, a law firm with offices across the U.S. and in China, announces the formal launch of AT Government Strategies LLC (ATGS) – a subsidiary. This public affairs, lobbying and consulting group provides full-service government relations and strategic counsel to advance the business objectives of companies, industry associations and other professional entities.
ATGS includes a diverse and experienced team of lawyers, lobbyists and political consultants with a long track record of success helping shape public policy, legislation and regulations on behalf of clients who are affected by or interested in governmental affairs at any level.
“We saw a great opportunity to build on the tremendous experience of our attorneys who have been working in government relations for decades, and believe a stand-alone subsidiary will help us better serve our clients,” said John Beulick, managing partner at Armstrong Teasdale.
ATGS, which does not provide legal services, works closely with attorneys at Armstrong Teasdale in multiple practice areas including environmental, tax, banking, government contracting and procurement, health care, finance and development, education, and more. This model enables seamless integration of the strategic and legal sides of any engagement, providing clients with in-depth knowledge, insight, and participation in government regulatory matters.
ATGS also has a strong network of affiliations with other firms across the country, including Grote & Associates, a consulting agency specializing in state government relations, political fundraising, event planning and campaign compliance based in Columbia, Mo. In addition, many of our professionals within ATGS and Armstrong Teasdale have previously held significant elected and appointed positions in federal, state and local government.
St. Louis partner Jon Dalton will lead the new subsidiary and serve as its president and CEO. Sherry Doctorian, a Jefferson City, Mo. partner, will serve as vice president; partner Matt Kitzi will serve as the director of regulatory affairs; and current director of legislative services, Shanon Hawk, will take on a similar role as the director of legislative affairs. Ty Ketchum (Kansas City), Kym Smiley (Denver), Kevin Stolworthy (Las Vegas) and other attorneys across Armstrong Teasdale are also members of ATGS. All attorneys will maintain their current roles at the firm in addition to these new responsibilities.
