Armstrong Teasdale Announces New Equity, Income Partners

Armstrong Teasdale proudly announces that eight attorneys have been named income partners of the firm effective Jan. 1, 2022. In addition, five partners have been elected to the firm’s equity partnership. The group is comprised of attorneys across all of the firm’s core practice groups and located across markets including Nevada, New York, Missouri, Massachusetts, Utah, Colorado and Pennsylvania.

The equity partners include Dale J. Degenshein, Lynn T. Goessling, Darren K. Sharp and John A. Sten. In addition, the attorneys named income partners include Lucas Amodio, Nicolas P. Cejas, Brandon P. Johansson, Christopher R. Johnson, Trinity Jordan, Hui-Shan Sandra King, Angela L. Odlum, Kevin W. Prewitt and Ida S. Shafaie.

Degenshein (New York) has more than 30 years of experience in cooperative and condominium matters, both as a litigator and transactional attorney. She has represented and advised hundreds of cooperatives and condominiums on all areas of board governance, construction and contract issues, alterations, license agreements, modernizing governing documents, quality of life issues and fiduciary obligations of board members.

Goessling (St. Louis) has more than two decades of experience in commercial real estate and business law. She represents a diverse range of clients across the country, from developers and landowners to privately held businesses and public companies, and is active in all sectors of the commercial real estate industry.

Sharp (Kansas City) co-chairs the firm’s Franchising and Distribution practice area. He has successfully tried jury trials to verdict in state and federal courts, and he has handled arbitrations involving business and employment disputes. Because of his achievements, Sharp is recognized as a Missouri/Kansas Super Lawyer® and received an AV-Preeminent peer review rating from Martindale-Hubbell.

Amodio (St. Louis) focuses on high-technology and computer-related matters involving patent law and cybersecurity. A former software engineer, he guides in-house counsel, inventors, and patent examiners in applying for and protecting U.S. and foreign patent applications. Amodio is also a Certified Ethical Hacker (C|EH) through the International Council of E-Commerce Consultants (EC Council).

Cejas (St. Louis) is a member of the firm’s award-winning Mass Tort and Catastrophic Loss practice area, a team responsible for many of Missouri’s top-ranking defense verdicts. His main focus is representing major hospitals, doctors, nurses and other professionals facing catastrophic injury and other medical malpractice claims. Cejas also defends clients in premises liability, product liability, insurance and commercial actions.

Johansson (Las Vegas) is a member of Armstrong Teasdale’s Litigation practice group who focuses on complex commercial litigation. He has a wide array of litigation experience in state and federal courts, most often involving general business litigation, banking, real property and construction issues, contract disputes, and defending directors and officers.

Johnson (Denver) has extensive experience representing companies of all sizes on a wide range of commercial transactions. His practice is primarily focused on the representation of corporate clients with regard to mergers and acquisitions, organizational formation and structure, venture and equity capital, public offerings and private placements of debt and equity securities, securities filings and periodic reporting, corporate governance, and other general business transactions and operational matters.

Jordan (Salt Lake City) is an experienced trial lawyer focusing his practice in the areas of federal criminal defense, entertainment law, nonprofit and corporate litigation. He also regularly represents clients in state and federal court. A former Assistant United States Attorney in Miami, Florida, Jordan was assigned to the major crimes unit and, most notably, led the U.S. Department of State’s largest domestic investigation and federal indictment in 2017‐2018.

King (Philadelphia) is a licensed pharmacist who applies her deep scientific and medical knowledge in counseling clients at the intersection of health care technology and law. She focuses on patent preparation and prosecution, and has extensive experience advising clients on global patent portfolios involving industrial and agricultural chemical compositions, small molecule pharmaceuticals, pharmaceutical formulations and dosage forms, transdermal drug delivery systems, manufacturing processes, synthetic processes, therapeutic methods, drug packaging, medical devices and vaccines.

Odlum (St. Louis) represents developers, finance and banking firms, utilities, nonprofit organizations, governmental bodies and other public and private entities in transactions involving development and financing incentives.  In addition to working on all aspects of various tax-incentive transactions and bond issuances, she also assists clients in the strategic development and management of a variety of industrial, commercial, residential and mixed-use real estate projects.

Prewitt (Kansas City) focuses on employment, insurance coverage, real estate, personal injury, franchise and class action cases including collective and class actions under the Fair Labor Standards Act and Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), and related Missouri statutes. His experience includes multiple jury trials under the Missouri Human Rights Act and defending franchisees, manufacturers, and real estate brokers and agents against claims brought under the Missouri Merchandising Practices Act and Kansas Consumer Protection Act.

Shafaie (St. Louis) counsels clients across industry sectors, primarily regarding complex civil rights claims and related state and local anti-discrimination laws. She has also conducted in-depth investigations on behalf of clients, including Fortune 100 companies, educational institutions and government entities. Shafaie advises clients on noncompete, trade secret and restrictive covenant matters, and has successfully argued on behalf of her clients to secure temporary restraining orders in federal court.
